Today started out with a bang!! From the get-go we jumped in and started to use some very creative and engaging apps- Pic Collage. Pic Collage can be used for many different tasks and projects. It is user-friendly and grabs the learner right away. I love how we used it as an introduction activity. This would be a great "getting to know you" activity at the beginning of the school year with staff and students.
I can see this course being a very costly course because we are being introduced to a ton of great apps that are really cool and valuable. I just want to purchase them all!!! Which brings me to my next point-are teachers responsible for funding these programs? At my last school we had two iPads that were shared by the whole school. I ended up purchasing my own iPad and have been loading it up with apps that are valuable for my students. Unfortunately for the students I will not be at my school the 2014-15 school year and I will be taking my iPad with me.
I love the hands-ons exploration part of the course. I am the type of learner that needs to teach myself a program to truly understand it. This course feels like it's going to be full of these opportunities.
Ha! you're so right Candace...and SO much more exciting learning to come:)
ReplyDeleteI too wondered about money for apps. I'm sure there's money at the school level and board level. It's just a matter of jumping through the right hoops I'm sure.
